Before you start
- Your store is created and a theme is already active (see “Change your theme”).
Customizing your theme means adapting its colors and style to your brand — with no code. It all happens in the Studio, with a live preview of your store.
What you'll learn
- Apply a color preset in one click.
- Adjust each color of your theme.
- Preview the result on desktop and mobile.
- Publish your changes to your customers.
Step by step
Step 1 — Open the Studio and choose your colors
In the left-hand menu, open Appearance then Themes / Studio. The Customization panel appears on the left, and a preview of your store on the right.
Start with the preset (marker ①): it applies a complete, harmonious palette in a single click. Then expand Colors and adjust each shade — primary, secondary, accent, background, text… (marker ②). Every change shows up instantly in the preview.
Step 2 — Preview on every screen, then publish
Use the Desktop / Tablet / Mobile toggle (marker ③) to check the result on each screen — especially mobile, where most purchases happen. When you're happy, click “Publish” (marker ④) to apply your changes to your online store.
Expected result
Your new colors apply immediately to your online store. Your products, categories and content are kept: only the look changes. Click “View site” to admire the result.
Expert tips
- Stay on brand. Choose colors close to your logo and your universe.
- Mind the contrast. Dark text on a light background (or the reverse) always stays readable.
- Keep the palette tight. Two or three dominant colors are enough for a professional look.
- Test on mobile. Always check the Mobile preview before publishing.
- Save as draft. You can prepare your changes and publish them later.
Common mistakes
| Mistake | Why it's a problem | The fix |
|---|---|---|
| Adjusting without publishing | Your customers still see the old version. | Click “Publish” once you're happy. |
| Low-contrast colors | Text becomes hard to read. | Keep strong contrast between text and background. |
| Too many bright colors | The result looks messy and amateur. | Stick to 2 or 3 dominant colors. |
| Forgetting mobile | The look can break on a phone. | Preview in Mobile mode before publishing. |
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a preset and a color?
A preset applies a complete, harmonious palette in one click. A color is set individually (primary, accent, background…) to fine-tune the result after choosing a preset.
Can I undo my changes?
Yes. Until you publish, click “Discard changes” to reset everything, or “Save draft” to keep them and resume later.
Does customizing change my products?
No. Customization only affects appearance. Your products, categories, orders and customers are fully kept.
Where do I change my logo or home banner?
The Studio handles colors and style. The logo is set in your store settings, and the home banner via Appearance → Slider.
Can I revert to the original colors?
Yes. Reselect the default preset (or “Discard changes” before publishing), then publish. The change is reversible.
Are the changes immediate?
Yes, as soon as you click “Publish”. Your visitors see the new colors on their next page load.
